Setup installation
This section will describe the installation steps of Login PI.

Start the setup.

Click “Next”. |

Accept the end user license agreement and click “Next”. |

Select the installation location and click "Next". |

CLick "Install". |
|
Wait until the installation has been completed. |

Enable (or disable) the "Launch Login PI Management interface" checkbox. And click "finish" |

When the previous steps have been completed the Login PI Management Console is started in your default browser. |

Enter the SQL database connection details:
Intergrated security: Use yes for Windows based authentication Username: The username which has access to the SQL server to create the database Password: Password of the used user account Domain: Domain of the used user account Click submit |

This can take a moment, please wait until the setup is finished. |

Here you have the ability to create an AD script which will create Login PI user accounts on the desired AD. Please note this form is optional and you can continue by the button skip. |
|
A requirement of Login PI is the share. This share houses files that are needed by launchers and there for accessed remotely. On this page the PI Share will be automatically detected. If the Login PI share is not detected please follow the next part of the installation guide. |
Before the share settings can be configured make sure the Login PI are ready for use. This is done by either running the AD script or configuring the preferred users / groups for the Login PI deployment.

Browse to the installation location of Login PI. By default this is C:\LoginPI\

Open the properties of the directory shared |

Open the tab Sharing Click "Advanced Sharing" |
|
Check the Share this folder checkbox Click "Permissions" |
|
This step is depending on company rules you apply of creating shares In this scenario full control is set on share permission and access on NTFS level will be set to the LoginPI user group Select Everyone and check the checkbox Full Control (allow) Click "Apply" and "Ok" |

Click "Ok"

Open the security tab and click "Edit" |
|
Click "Add" |
|
Search for the group name LoginPI or other preferred groups. Click "Ok"
|

Apply "Full Controll" permissions to this user group Click "Ok" |
|
Click "Close" |
|
To check if the Login PI share has been configured correctly, open the Login VSI web Console and click on "Refresh". |
|
If everything has been correctly configured the following page will be shown. |
Verify installation

Open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio A database must be created with the provided database name |

Make sure the PI users can access the database To add the PI group open the security section and add a New Login
|

Click Search to search for the AD group |
|
Make sure to select the correct location and enable the object type group. Search for the group name LoginPI
|
|
Open User Mapping and map the PI database and add the db_datareader and db_datawriter role |
|
Click Ok |
|
Open IIS |
|
Verify if the website PI Interface is created and running
